Colin Cook
LEAD PASTOR Sunny Brae
Colin came to Sunny Brae in 2008 after spending many years in Youth and Camping ministry. He and his wife, Joy, have two daughters, Melora (Married to Aiden Hatchard) and Julia (Married to Daniel Hawkes). Both Colin and Joy have a passion for Worship, Families and seeing the Church move forward in God’s vision.
Colin graduated from University of New Brunswick in 1997 with the intent of working in the field of Parks and Recreation. He spent a year working in government, developing the multi-use trail section of the Fundy Trail. He then went to Camp Shiktehawk where he spent 5 years as the Executive Director.
In what was an unexpected turn in life, He and Joy moved their family to Kentville as he studied at Acadia Divinity College, taking a 3 year Masters in Divinity. During this time he also served as Youth Pastor at Kentville Baptist Church, before moving to Moncton in 2005 as the Associate Pastor of Christian Family Life at First Baptist Moncton.
Oliver Locke
Dieppe Campus Pastor
Oliver est venu à Sunny Brae en septembre 2025 pour démarrer le Campus de Dieppe. Il a agrandi à Truro, NÉ, où il a complété 13 années d'immersion française. Il a étudié pour le ministère à Kingswood University, où il a gradué avec un BA en Ministère avec spécialisations dans la Louange et l'Implantation des Églises. Depuis sa première année à Kingswood, il a senti une vocation inébranlable de servir l'église francophone du Canada et d'implanter de nouvelles églises pour rejoindre les francophones.
Auparavant, il a servi à Kings Church (Saint Jean, NB), un mouvement d'implantation d'églises maisons en N.É., et à Middleton Baptist Church. Il a gradué avec un Maîtrise d'Arts en Théologie d'Acadia Divinity College en 2025.
Oliver et son épouse Lindsay, avec leurs trois filles, Éloise, Clara, et Catherine, sont ravis de s'intégrer dans la communauté de Dieppe et de voir comment Dieu révélera son royaume à travers l'église Sunny Brae Dieppe!
Riley Fillmore
ASSOCIATE PASTOR OF FAMILY MINISTRIES
Riley is from Truro, Nova Scotia and came to Moncton to attend Crandall University. He graduated in May 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies. That summer he married his wife Mary, and Riley joined our staff team soon after.
He loves being a part of the Youth and Children’s Ministries here as well as getting connected with parents in the church.
In 2024, Riley and Mary welcomed there first child, their son Graham into their family. Riley loves spending time outdoors in God’s creation with his family. You’ll often find him hiking, biking or working around at their home.
Jared Cook
ASSOCIATE PASTOR OF WORSHIP & DISCIPLESHIP
Jared is from Fredericton, New Brunswick and has been leading worship for over 10 years in a variety of contexts such as, Camp ministry, Church ministry, University chapel programs, Community worship events, etc. His primary instruments are guitar (both acoustic and electric), and voice. His secondary instruments are bass, percussion, and piano.
He graduated from Crandall University in May of 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, a minor in Worship Arts, and a minor in Christian Studies. Through the Crandall-Acadia Divinity dual degree partnership, he has also graduated with a Bachelor of Theology from Acadia Divinity College in May of 2022. He is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Theology with a concentration in the Arts from Fuller Theological Seminary in California via online studies.
Jared is passionate about training and equipping worship musicians and leaders both musically and theologically. He is also excited about seeing the Church respond to God’s Glory and desires to lead people in Christ-centered worship that invites the Holy Spirit to transform lives.
Kathleen (Kathy) Miller Smith
ADMINISTRATION
Kathy was born and raised at Sunny Brae Baptist Church and after over 20 years living in the US, has come home to join our team!
She worked in a multi-campus, multi-cultural and multi-generational church setting for 15 years, working as Ministry Assistant at Family Church in South Florida - in Administration, Groups, Connections, in Leading and Teaching.
She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Management from Columbia Southern University and graduated from the Church Planting Residency Program at Family Church, a two-year intensive program designed to train leaders for new church plants. The residency program prepares leaders to serve in a variety of roles, including campus pastors and church planters, but also as ministry leaders in worship, students, kids, connections, groups, pastoral care, community outreach, and more.

John Prince
CUSTODIAN
John became a member at Sunny Brae several years before becoming the Custodian here at Sunny Brae.
He attended Briercrest College and Seminary in Saskatchewan. He enjoys his job and if you come to the church while he is cleaning, you will likely hear him singing on the job. John and his wife, Monique, were married in June of 2020. John also has two adult children. His passion for Christ and his church is evident in all he does.
Fun fact about John - he has a love for all things Coca-Cola themed, and even has a whole room in his home decorated with his various Coca-Cola memorabilia!
Melissa Bannister
CHILDREN’S MINISTRY COORDINATOR - Part-time
Melissa was born in Moncton and raised at Sunny Brae, married since August 2017. She is the Mother of three - Olivia (7), Hudson (5), and Madison (3) and you can often find them following close behind her!
Melissa's background in childcare helped her shape her heart for creating a Safe, Welcoming environment where children can Grow, Play and Learn about Jesus.
She coordinates the Sunny Tots, Kidzone, Nursery and Kingdom Kids programs here at Sunny Brae and finds great joy in watching these ministries grow and thrive … seeing more children engaged, families connected, and young hearts discovering God's love. She is grateful for the opportunity to serve this Church family and walk alongside parents as they help their children grow in faith.
